Founder and Chairman of Bannari Amman Group is one of the most illustrious and successful businessmen. His life is a real success as an industrialist, agriculturist, educationalist, social worker and philanthropist. This Chartered Accountant cum Company Secretary hails from Sangampalayam Village near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Having lost his father at the age of 17 and being the eldest son in an agricultural family of five sons and a daughter, he began his career as an Internal Auditor. His propensity for business enabled him to create one of the largest Industrial Conglomerates in South India

He has contributed greatly for the growth of Indian Sugar Industry and was the President, Indian Sugar Mills Association twice during 1990-91 and 2002-03; President, South Indian Sugar Mills Association (Tamilnadu) thrice during 1987-88, 2000-01 and 2001-02; & President, South Indian Sugar Mills Association (Karnataka) during 1993-1996

In addition to Business, his journey also extends to corporate social services including health and sanitation, rural development, watershed development, blindness control, environment conservation, spirituality, education, etc

Owing to his phenomenal efforts, he has been honoured with Seva Rathnakara Award from Sri Adichunhangiri Mahasamsthana Math, Karnataka; Baktha Siromani Award from Sankaracharaya of Kanchi Math; and TNF Excellence Award from Tamil Nadu Foundation, USA
